Christchurch City Council's Cranford Regeneration Plan was approved on 17 August 2017 by Hon Gerry Brownlee, acting on behalf of the Minister supporting Greater Christchurch Regeneration under section 38 of the Greater Christchurch Regeneration Act 2016

The Waimakariri Residential Red Zone Recovery Plan has been approved by Hon Gerry Brownlee, the Minister supporting Greater Christchurch Regeneration (the Minister) and came into effect on 15 December 2016.

The Minister supporting Greater Christchurch Regeneration (formerly the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery), the Hon Gerry Brownlee, has received the draft Waimakariri Residential Red Zone Recovery Plan from Waimakariri District Council.

In April 2016, the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery (now the Minister supporting Greater Christchurch Recovery), Hon Gerry Brownlee, under section 22 of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011 has given approval for several minor amendments to be made arising from Environment Canterbury’s review of the Land Use Recovery Plan (the Recovery Plan).

The Burwood Resource Recovery Park was established following the Canterbury earthquakes of 2010-2011 to manage the receipt and resource processing of mixed materials from the demolition of commercial and residential buildings.
