Connect Smart was an initiative from 2014 to 2019 to promote ways for individuals, businesses and schools to protect themselves online.
Connect Smart was led by the National Cyber Policy Office (NCPO) in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in partnership with a range of government agencies, non-government organisations, and the private sector.
Connect Smart website
The Connect Smart website at connectsmart.govt.nz was decommissioned in April 2020.
The website provided advice for home-users, businesses and schools to protect themselves from online theft and fraud, scams, malware, hacking and other mobile, computer and internet attacks.
This function is now being delivered by CERT NZ, which supports businesses, organisations and individuals affected by cyber security incidents, and provides trusted and authoritative information and advice.
Further advice on cyber security can be found at the National Cyber Security Centre’s website. Advice for individuals and families wanting to stay safe online is provided by Netsafe.
The Connect Smart website has been archived by the National Digital Heritage Archive.
