The COVID-19 Group in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet played an important role in ensuring a coordinated all of government response to COVID-19. You can find more information about the history of the COVID-19 Group in DPMC here.
The COVID-19 Group and respective Ministers regularly proactively released material related to the response on the Unite Against COVID-19 website. With the response now in a different phase, and the gradual transition of COVID-19 Group functions to other agencies, we have ensured that the material originally published on the Unite Against COVID-19 website is available on the DPMC website.
On 26 January 2023 this material was migrated to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet website. The proactive release material that was migrated is dated from the start of New Zealand’s response to the pandemic to 30 June 2022. Subsequent proactive releases are available on the DPMC publications page here. Some parts of the information released is withheld under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). Where this is the case, the relevant section of the Act has been applied.
