Established to capture learnings from the Canterbury Earthquakes in 2010 and 2011, the Earthquake Recovery Learning and Legacy Programme (the Programme), in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, operated from 2016 to 2018.
The Programme worked with business, public sector organisations, communities and individuals to create a recovery legacy.
The EQ Recovery Learning website
The EQ Recovery Learning website at eqrecoverylearning.org, part of the Programme, was home to a collection of around 300 publicly available documents, on recovery lessons and tools.
These included insights and experiences from the Canterbury Earthquakes shared by organisations and groups across the recovery. It pulled together collective learning to help equip leaders and communities involved in disaster recovery and complex challenges.
The website was decommissioned in July 2020 following the transition of all content to UC CEISMIC where it is easily accessible to the public on both an ongoing and long-term basis.
We recommend you make a favourite of this new URL for the EQ Recovery Learning collection at UC CEISMiC: https://quakestudies.canterbury.ac.nz/store/collection/22109.
UC CEISMIC is a comprehensive digital archive of video, audio, documents and images relating to the 2010-11 Canterbury Earthquakes, managed by the University of Canterbury. UC CEISMIC is publicly accessible and designed for the long-term storage of such content.
The EQ Recovery Learning website has been archived by the National Digital Heritage Archive.
The Canterbury Earthquakes Symposium
