The Victoria Cross for New Zealand
The Victoria Cross for New Zealand (VC) is awarded for 'most conspicuous gallantry, or some daring or a pre-eminent act of valour, or self sacrifice or extreme devotion to duty in the face of the enemy or belligerents'. The award is identical in design to, and made of the same Crimean War gunmetal, as the British Victoria Cross.
