Andrew Kibblewhite attended the official launch of the International Year of Evaluation (EvalYear 2015), a global initiative to promote evaluation and evidence-based policy making.
The event was opened by the Hon Bill English, followed by speeches and discussion with Minister English, Dr Robin Peace (Associate Professor Evaluation, Massey University), Chris Whelan (Executive Director, University NZ) and Andrew as Head of the Policy Profession. Key themes included the importance of evaluation in evidence-based policy and the need for evaluation to be relevant, timely and embedded in policy process – rather than a search for perfection disconnected from decision making.
