DPMC is a mid-sized agency of nine business units based in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. We have a unique role as the trusted advisor, leader, and steward of our system of executive government.

DPMC's Chief Executive, Ben King, reports to the Rt Hon Christopher Luxon, the Prime Minister. The Chief Executive is supported by senior managers:

The National Emergency Management Agency was established on 1 December 2019, replacing the Ministry of Civil Defence & Emergency Management. The National Emergency Management Agency is an autonomous Departmental Agency hosted by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Dave Gawn is the Chief Executive of NEMA.
