Response Steering Group

The Response Steering Group (RSG) supports the coordination and delivery of the work programme for the Government’s response to the Royal Commission of Inquiry report into the terrorist attack on Christchurch masjidain.

The Group is an advisory and coordinating body but is not responsible for making decisions on the Government’s response. Decisions for individual agencies are made by their Chief Executives and leadership teams. Decisions on Government policy are made by individual Ministers or by Cabinet, as appropriate. The RSG is chaired by the Director, National Security Policy Directorate, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

The publication of Minutes of RSG meetings include any necessary redactions for information that is not appropriate to release, and if requested, would be withheld under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). Where this is the case, the relevant section of the Act that applies is identified. Minutes are published here after they have been approved by RSG members.
