Cabinet Minute CAB-21-MIN-0914: Governor-General's Travel to Australia

On 31 May 2021, Cabinet:

1noted that the Governor-General will be absent from New Zealand from 2 to 6 June 2021 to undertake a visit to Australia;

2noted that the Governor-General will be accompanied by Sir David Gascoigne, the Acting Official Secretary, a Communications Advisor, and an Aide-de-Camp from Government House;

3noted that the total cost of the visit for the Governor-General’s party will be approximately [s9(2)(f)(iv)] as a charge to Vote: Prime Minister and Cabinet;

4noted that the Governor-General’s party will be accompanied by two Diplomatic Protection Service officers, whose travel expenses will be met from Vote: Police;

5noted that in the absence of the Governor-General, the Chief Justice, Rt Hon Dame Helen Winkelmann, will act as Administrator of the Government.
