Portfolio Civil Defence

On 8 April 2019, Cabinet:

1 authorised the absence of Hon Kris Faafoi from New Zealand, from 10 to 20 May 2019 to travel to:

1.1 Geneva, Switzerland to attend and speak at the Sixth Session of the Global Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction;

1.2 London, United Kingdom, and Dublin, Ireland to meet with counterparts and organisations relevant to his portfolios;

2 agreed that he be accompanied by one member of staff;

3 approved the estimated expenditure of up to [withheld under section 9(2)(f)(iv)] for the travel expenses of the Ministerial party as a charge to Vote: Internal Affairs (Members of the Executive - Travel);

4 noted that he will be accompanied in Geneva by officials from the Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management, whose travel costs will be met by their agency;

5 agreed that in his absence:

5.1 Hon Nanaia Mahuta act as MInister of Civil Defence;

5.2 Hon David Parker act as Minister of Broadcasting, Communications and Digital Media from 10 to 15 May 2019;

5.3 Hon Grant Robertson act as Minister of Broadcasting, Communications and Digital Media from 16 to 20 May 2019;

5.4 Hon Stuart Nash act as Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs;

5.5 Hon Iain Lees-Galloway act as Minister of Customs;

6 noted that the House is not sitting during his absence.
