The Child Poverty Unit (CPU) has been established in DPMC to support the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern, as the Minister for Child Poverty Reduction.
The CPU's role includes:
- supporting the passage of the Child Poverty Reduction Bill
- supporting agencies to implement the legislation, once passed
- working with others to identify actions and policies for reducing child poverty
- providing advice on other relevant matters.

Alongside the CPU, the Child Wellbeing Unit has been established.
We will update this website with information on the child wellbeing strategy and upcoming engagement opportunities in the coming weeks.
