Responsibilities include the management of New Zealand's fisheries (including aquaculture), providing for use while ensuring sustainability of those resources for the benefit of New Zealand as a whole.


Fisheries New Zealand, which is a business unit within the Ministry for Primary Industries, provides support for this portfolio.
